Who is responsible
This website is run by Marco Polini, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact is possible through the contact form or by post at Dipartimento di Fisica, Università di Pisa, Largo Bruno Pontecorvo 3, 56127 Pisa, Italy.
What this site does not do
The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising trackers, and loads no fonts or scripts from third parties while you read it. Fonts are served from this domain.
The contact form
When you send a message, the name, email address, affiliation, topic and text you write are delivered by email toMarco Polini, only so that the message can be read and answered. They are not stored in a database on this server or used for anything else. The legal basis is your consent, given with the checkbox on the form, and the steps you ask for before any agreement (Article 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).
Emails are kept in the recipient's mailbox for as long as the conversation is useful, and deleted on request.
Spam protection
To keep automated spam out, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It is loaded only when you start filling in the form. Cloudflare, Inc. processes technical data such as your IP address and browser characteristics to tell people from bots; see Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy notice. Cloudflare may process this data outside the European Union, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Server logs
As for any website, the server that hosts this site (operated by Noze S.r.l. in Germany, within the EU) records technical access logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. They are kept for a limited time and are not used to profile visitors.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and you can withdraw your consent at any time, by writing through the contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
